Prof Dr George Christoff

Prof. Dr George Christoff, MD is Chief of the Department of HTA in the Faculty of Public Health in Medical University, Sofia. He is Editor in Chief of the specialized periodical for physicians „Medical magazine”.

Prof. Christoff has graduated from Medical University Sofia and has a master degree in Public Health and Healthcare Management. He is a specialist in Internal Diseases, Clinical Allergy and Health Economics. He works intensively in the field of social and economic analysis of Asthma.


Prof. Christoff is the founder and further developer of the allergy department in “Tokuda Hospital”, Sofia, which offers integrated diagnostic and therapeutic care for allergic patients. He is one of the leading specialists in clinical allergy in Bulgaria.
Prof. George Hristov is a leader of two national and participant of three international and two national research projects.

Scientific interests of Prof. Christoff are in the areas of Public Health and Healthcare Management, Epidemiology and Pharmaco-economics of chronic diseases, Pricing and Reimbursement, Regulation of Pharmaceutical Market, Hospital Economics, Cost-effectiveness of hospital expenditures, Economic analysis of hospital care, HTA; as well as in Asthma and allergic inflammation, allergic rhinitis, COPD.

Prof Christoff authors over 170 publications and has participated in numerous national and international congresses and symposia.

Prof. Christoff is a member of the National Society for Health Politics and Management; Bulgarian Society of Allergy; European Public Health Association; International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research; European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Respiratory Effectiveness Group.
